Here we go then, one of my favourite weeks of racing - the Goodwood/Galway double up is magical. Ouzo in the 1.50 for me. No more bets until I've seen how the ground rides because I've heard conflicting info from about four different sources.
That's a shame - presume the ground is the reason. I might stick a pin in the Big Race - have a feeling there'll be an upset.
First two winners for me. Got Angel Bleu at 13 on Betfair this morning. Each way but still..... Also fancy Trueshan in the 3.35 but not backing it at that price. Also, Sisters In The Sky 4.45 looks underrated. Had an each way on that one.
Worthy favourite, KCP! But there's a big gap in the betting to Sir Ron Priestley, who'd probably be fancied a bit if it weren't for this ground. May chance half a crown each way!
I don't like anything at the top of the market - Trueshan overrated with one cracking performance, the O'Brien horses don't fill me wirh confidence, Spanish Mission not good enough, Sir Ron never tried two miles I'll have a stab at Nayef Road at 28s as an each way punt. 2nd in the race before, doesn't mind the mud. Monster monster.
Could be right there Mr Kaht. Got to have a big chance surely. These are my picks now I've had a good look. 1.50 Pied Piper 2.25 Bounce The Blues 3.00 Armor 3.35 Alcohol Free 4.10 Flotus 4.45 Percy's Pride 5.20 Corvair I shall be doing my usual each way system on the exchange where I think there's price value to be had. There are 6 places available for some of these. I'll not back if there's nothing in the price. Same with Trueshan yesterday - tipped it but couldnt back it.
Slight doubt about soft/heavy going. He’s a class animal but would marginally prefer faster ground. Should still win though and stay odds against.
I'll grant that he might prefer faster, but he's actually won on heavy and good to soft (2). I think he'll have too much for them, even on this ground. Fearby is short (3.00) but looks to have everything in his favour.
