Barnsley head for the seaside determined to strengthen their grip on a top-six place while Blackpool boss Simon Grayson is insisting that the game is not a dead fixture for his team. With three matches to play Blackpool are five points above the relegation zone. Over Easter they beat Swansea at Bloomfield Road and gained a point from a trip to Brentford. Said Grayson: "The good news is that the games are running out for the teams below us and if we can get a result against Barnsley, then we should be there." "I'm delighted to pick four points up in two very tough games over Easter, but I'd said all along that although this tough run of fixtures we'd got was worrying a few people, they didn't worry me. "You might think it's easy for me to say that now, after we've got great results against Swansea and Brentford, but believe me I was saying that prior to the weekend. "The reason? I always knew that there was a different kind of pressure for the teams at the top. They have to win these games." Barnsley boss Ritchie reckoned Chesterfield's 2-1 win at fourth from top Huddersfield last night was 'a brilliant result'. "It helps us and it keeps Chesterfield in the division next season, I immediately sent off a text to Lee Richardson (Chesterfield assistant manager) to congratulate them," Ritchie said. Barnsley Reserves were due to play their final Pontin's League game this afternoon against Sheffield United at Chesterfield's Saltergate Ground. Indeed My brother says he's going if we get to Cardiff.</p> Weeks ago I asked him "Are you going to Hartlepool", he replied with "It's too far, i dont like travelling"</p> Bloody Excuses</p>
RE: Indeed I'll be taking an 11 year old lad to Cardiff if we get there (and that isn't a euphemism!) - he's yet to see us win in about 4 visits to Oakwell and 1 away game.
The more the merrier for me .............. I get hacked off with the 'part-timers' the same as everybody does who goes regular but we will struggle to sell all our allocation anyway, even if everybody and their grandmothers go, and can't see us taking the same numbers that we did to Wembley. 20 to 25,000 would be a good turnout in Cardiff, if we get that far of course!
RE: Indeed As well you know it's nowt to do with him going, us not winning. He'll be a fan for life seeing us in that setting with that sort of support.....finally break his ties with Liverpool.
How dare you! I've been a fan of Bransley United for years, and I wear the shirt with pride. Whatever colour it is.
