    I'll never forget a radio ad for 999 from a few years ago

    It had someone phoning to say there car had been stolen or something like that and then someone phoning saying something along the lines of "Theres a man in the house, I think he's got a knife. We're upstairs in the bedroom and I think he's downstairs. Can you come quick please?"

    The voiceover then says "Both of these are real calls to the 999 emergancy helpline. Neither of these calls are emergancies and could have been dealt with by calls to the police on non emergancy numbers, please only use 999 in the event of a real emergancy".

    I gave up trying to work out what counts as a real emergancy after that.

    obviously, real emergencies are when your hamster gets under the floorboards, also when theres bees at bottom of the garden, or if you run out of credit lol

    I wonder would an animals life being in danger count as an emergancy?

    And then would it count if it was a puppy about to die? How far down the animal chain would it go before it wasn't anymore? A fly?
