As it stands the first choice midfield for me is Devaney, JCR, Colace and Anderson - how many goals will they get between 'em? I'd say based on last year a dozen at the most. When we have an aging Macken, an unfit Hume I'm worried where the goals will come from. 45 last season and I can't see us improving on that. Bogdanovic is looking decent and we have the Second Coming but we could really do with the midfield supplementing the attack.
Was disappointed we missed out on Charlie Adam. A free kick specialist should add 5 or 6 goals a season to the midfield.
The first choice midfield could all change in next few days... if things go to plan: .................Anderson/Colace.................... JCR.....................................Hallfredsson ......................Hamill............................ Now that midfield could be good for around 20+ goals!! Then with Foster and Moore chipping in 6/7 from set peices things are looking up... Plus I feel Boggy could be good for 15+ goals this season if he is played up front and not on the wing!! My god I'm actually trying to think positive!!!
"the second coming" pmsl i reckon Boggy will get 10+ if he keeps fit, as for the other strikers... well, hope Hume finds his feet again and we'll be fine. Oddjob/Sods/Macken, etc. id expect 15 max from them lot, so yeah, we need goalscorers.. id love to see JCR, Hammill, Ice Man and Anderson in midfield though, that would be ace.
