Is there any wonder we struggle to score? We play with two holding midfielders in Colace & De Silva, neither ever gets into the opposition box so the goal threat from centre midfield is nil. Macken is always dropping deep to get the ball and lay it out wide and when the ball is delivered in, usually from thirty yards out, there's next to no-one in the box. Our shooting from distance is woeful and Davey has managed to assemble a collection of strikers that would struggle a level down never mind in the Championship.

Macken - steady but hardly prolific, probably good for 10 goals a season.
Hume - the only one we have (or had as is now the case) who can shoot from distance, would probably have been good for a dozen?
Cureton - quality finisher, but decidedly lacking match sharpness. Likes the ball to come through midfield as his strength is playing on the shoulder of the last man. In other words he won't be much use to us.
Odejayi - Where do you start? A total embarrassment. Please Simon see sense & get rid come Jan. Put the lad (and us) out of his misery.
    Mostto - Why?
    Rigters - Why????
Coulson - Came from non league and will finish non league.

If we're going to persist in long high balls into the box then let's invest £750k in Liam Dickinson. I said we should go for him back in the summer. Big, quick, strong and a good finisher. He has 4 goals in a game and a half for Blackpool while Oddjob has 5 in fifty for us. Feckin mind boggling innit....!!!
Another option is Lee Hughes and if Donny get him like reports suggest just watch him make a difference to them. For £400k he is a steal. I mention his name reluctantly because of his past problems but desperate times mean desperate measures.
I honestly fear for our place in the Championship this season I really do.

    SIX Strikers "on duty" today

To have FOUR strikers on the bench, says it all to me (he can only use three in any case). The only thing I would say to you is that it's SD's job on the line here....

Cheftyke, you say we won't go down? How can you be so sure watching the last two games? I can't honestly name three teams who I confidently think will finish below us.

Because he simply isn't and never will be good enough.

I'd spend a million to bring them both in. A good bit of business and Dickinson would be a long term investment.
