Wonderfully well struck shot by McCann to win it . It's been said quite a few times this season that we could do with a some scrappy 1-0 wins . Today we got one .
Also , after one training session , I think it's far too early to judge any of the new lads . Having said that , I think young Reid can catch pigeons !!!

    Like lightening that kid...

Not only that, he's a big lad - looked strong and difficult to prise off the ball. Skillful too. Of all the new players today I think he stood out the most!

I wouldn't mind seeing him start onTuesday night

He could provide us with the width we seemed to lack today .

    Was involved in the goal...

And, apart from that cross that went ballooning into the Ponty, looked really useful. Could really hug that touchline and seemed to glide past players...

It'd be good to see him start...

    McIndoe, who's he?! :pff

    massive hole where mcindoe was

We didnt look half the footballing side we did under ritchie but won! Why the **** couldnt ritchie have brought the extra players in we needed FFS! I loved the football we playe under him and our fearless attutude. I dont want to watch that ***** weve seen today every week. I know its early days but we looked clueless a lot of the time.

RE: massive hole where mcindoe was

I'm a Ritchie fan and didn't want to see him go mate so I agree to a great extent. Clueless is a bit harsh though - I thought they looked effective for the most part and started to play well towards the end of the second half.

F*ck McIndoe though - players who think they're bigger than the club can be shown the door for all I care. Kyel Reid looks a more than adequate player and, hopefully, will prove a more than capable replacement...

probably need time to gel and get used to the new system but

everytime we picked the ball up at the back they were looking to the wing for an outlet but nobody was there so we hoofed it long instead. Passes were all over the place. People not quite sure what they were doing and i can hardly remember their keeper having to make a save.

Hopefully these will be addressed tomorrow and monday before tuesday.

Still cant understand why we still cant play with wingers but stop everyone else piling forward - or at least one winger. Hopefully kyel will provide that but i cant see what he can offer that devaney cant. Mcann is taking the left so why bring in another left footer!??? Beats me and all a little too panicky. A replacement for richards would have been better imho than 2 left footers.

    Agreed...

We have been playing with an outlet that Hayes, on the right, didn't provide. McCann looks a good player but not quite McIndoe quality when it comes to attacking (good finish though).

Their keeper hardly made a save, no - but Colgan only had a couple to make too...

They've looked a lot better today than I'd anticipated - hopefully as the team gels we'll see a little more excitement...

hayes was blowing out of his arse half way thru second half

Davey didnt spot this either - right infront of him. Obviously lacking match fitness.

Yes we did and the big plus from my point of view was that despite the fact we had 3 new players in the side who are still finding their way around and although the football wasn't scintillating, we never looked like losing.

alot of that was due to ipswich being being *****, we would have lost to more capable sides today imo.

    But we were playing Ipswich

and our tactics were no doubt taylored accordingly.

    There's a first this season

3 Points in the bag (and I've have settled for one with a clean sheet)
