I think I may have committed myself to doing it, could be fun hmmm!! Anyone else up for giving it a go?
me too, tried doing it in November but failed miserably. Gonna give it a good go in Jan and may even go for a jog
Not drinking mate, never been a big fan of brown love. And you're right the new sensations on the little fella are taking some getting used to!!
Kind of Was going to try keep it going til Valentines day champagne, but a mates stag do on 25th Jan has put paid to any true effort. I will definitely be cutting down all year though. I did quite a lot (hell of a lot) of cycling this year ..... lost two stone between January and my last ride at end of October. However since then, I have put more than a stone back on. So as they say, 10 hard months to lose it, but only a couple of months to put it back on. Gonna try combine exercise with a massive reduction in alcohol this year, and bread, which is truly evil.
I've just had a reccy of the fridge and cupboards - 3 cans of Carlsberg, bottle of white, bottle of champagne, half a bottle of Pimms and some mulled wine. All need to be shifted before midnight!!
I take October off the booze each year ("Ocsober") then when my mates are trying to cut down in January I like to really cane it.
I've had a grand total of maybe 3 alcoholic drinks in the last year so its not really a stretch... The landlord of one of my old locals used to drink a gallon per night (minimum) and smoked heavily. He gave both up for January every year and it nearly killed him...
“That's the problem with drinking, I thought, as I poured myself a drink. If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in order to celebrate; and if nothing happens you drink to make something happen.” ― Charles Bukowski, Women
Yep, I am. I did it last year from waking up on New year's day to 1st Feb. I nearly faltered only once and the rest of the time it seemed easy. That's not to say that this year it will be. I did find that my wallet seemed to have some magic spell on it in that it was unusually full... I also felt a load better after the first couple of days but one tip if you are a coffee drinker don't try to stop both at the same time.
Shame I'm working tonight, I'd help you with the wine & champers. I only use Carlsberg to clear my drains though...
I'm doing it, got a small matter of 4 cans of lager and 3 bottles of real ale to contend with first though...
My Grandad used to sup a gallon of Johns, a small bottle of whisky, smoke 40 roll ups and chips for tea every day. He knew how to live life Mind you, he died aged 36
