    But here goes

Imo George smith thinks he's better than he his

Too confident in my opinion and needs to do the simple things simply not trying to beat his man every time

Got caught out a couple of times today and on another day that could have cost us .

In no way am I saying he's a bad player just worries me slightly

I don't know if he thinks he's better than he is, but I do agree that going forward, he may need to go 'back to the drawing board' and focus on the simpler things. Defensively I've always thought he was sound though

    He's definitely not too confident

We desperately need a left back in. Smith is okay but he's still really young and could do with a mentor. Especially if he's to play the wing back role which was asked of him today.

I think as a defender he's done okay. But as a footballer he's no where near the likes of Stones, Bree or Holgate. He's so unbalanced when on the ball. Hes forever trapping his foot over the ball before making a pass and it often slows the game down. I'm looking forward to seeing him develop this season but I do hope LJ gets some cover in.

I dont think hes over confident or too confident, but he isn't that good yet. i like him but he cant be playing 40+ games for us yet, not when we want to get promoted, need a better left back.

Was shocking today both going forward and defensively. Desperately need a left back.

Couldn't believe how slow both him and James Bree were

I like him. Solid defensively, improving going forward. He's 18. We all agree that an older head as competition would be ideal. Does the head coach though?

An experienced left back could boost Smith both on and off the pitch significantly

People on here believe he's better than he actually is. Never rated him to be honest

I think it was pretty obvious they were working on different things with Smith & Johnson was constantly talking to him.

I wouldn't be concerned at things not coming off in pre season, let's see how he is in competitive games, he delivered last season

He's young and a work in progress. He will get better but don't think we can expect him to play 40/50 games this season so I agree we need another left back. Preferably an experienced vocal one, who can play full back or wing back

What's Stephen Crainey doing these days? Was quality for Blackpool and looked good last year when he played against us.
