With barnsley66. Higgie was the most skilful player I've had the pleasure of watching playing for Barnsley, with the exception of Ronnie Glavin. Really looking forward to it. Hopefully, I'll see some more BBS's down at the Lamproom.

Me and Hicksy are off down. I reckon Higgy was my favourite Barnsley player (having never seen Glavin).

Would be great to hear what Higgy has to say.

Another post on here titled "An Evening with Flicker" interprets something Flicker said as though Higgy had been offered the job before the Leeds game, and the job offer was withdrawn after the game.

Higgy's tweets said he'd heard nothing from BFC, and he was at the Riverside that day!

So, it will be interesting to find out the truth.

I'll let you know what he says.

I was planning to make this event, but moving to our new home in Bradford has curtailed it. My favourite Tarn laiker ever, and I'm missing it. Gutted isn't the word.

If you would be so kind as to fill us in on what gets said, Kev, I'd be eternally grateful, pal.

When we got the tickets in November

I thought the only topic of interest would be Higgie's time with us. The gossip from last month has put another slant on it. I'll report back on what he says for those unable to attend.

    Very enjoyable evening

When pressed by Matthew Murray, Higgie said he'd been very close to getting the Barnsley job. However, he refused to elaborate any further due to respect for David Flitcroft.

    He didn't say that exactly

But it's certainly the impression I got, mate. Great bloke. He's been coaching about seven years and has earned all the appropriate coaching badges.

I'm sure Higgy will go on to be a good manager, but our position meant that appointing him as an untried manager would have been a massive risk.

But then according to John Dennis we have missed out on, or turned down, the likes of Martin O'Neill, Gordon Strachan, David Moyes and some more!!

Had we won at Wembley in 2000, he'd have stayed at Barnsley. Before the match, most of the Barnsley lads had severe haircuts. Higgie had a conversation with Ipswich striker David Johnson prior to the game.
    Johnson:"What have you all done?"
    Higgie:"We've had a haircut."
    Johnson:"It looks daft."
Higgie:"Yeah, but you've dyed your hair blue."
    Johnson:"It makes me look cool."
Higgie:"No, it makes you look a knobhead!!".
