Just posted this on Facebook. No offence meant, purely my own thoughts. :)

    Paul & Darren Holmes.jpg

The vulgar procession of Margaret Thatcher has evoked sad memories for me of Paul and Darren Holmes. Two lads my age from Goldthorpe, close to where I grew up in South Yorkshire. They were both tragically killed in the winter of 1984 at just 14 & 15 years old, when an embankment collapsed where the brothers had been collecting coal by hand for their family. Miners left the picket lines to help dig them out, but it was too late. It was the most tragic event of the Miners Strike and yet more blood on that vile woman's hands. I heard later that William Hague who is also local, said those boys haunted Thatcher for years afterwards and this was part of her later insanity. I don't know if this is true, but I hope that wherever she is going, she has to face those two boys on the way.
