    So I'd like to say thanks Mr Flitcroft for your efforts, you worked wonders in the second half of last season.

    But you were given long enough, too long maybe, to try this season to carry on the form.

    The team simply has not been good enough though.

    All the best, but your time was up

    And watching the game back it's still a very harsh pen and the third goal looks no better no matter how many times you watch it.

    I think on reflection we have to say that Flitcroft's reign was a relatively successful one and we have him to thank for actually still being in this division and I will him all the best if he has indeed gone.

    I didn't think a defeat would necessarily spell the end for him today, it's the manner of it which has cost him the job...the players were out of ideas and obviously being instructed to play in a way which they aren't comfortable with.

    He had to go, there was no way back for him after today but I am still gutted that he has. Good luck Flicker, thanks for last season.
