Had an hamster when I was a kid called. Speedy Gonzales. Middle names of Chalkey and Whitey. Just thought I would share that.
Can't get on Youtube at work. All I'm saying is that I would take Youtube videos with a pinch of salt.
Was that another cheeky cocaine quip? Because my joke about Charlie Bishop being Colombian went down like Didier Drogba under sniper fire.
I always think of Speedy Gonzales whenever someone mentions underlay...areeba areeba underlay underlay....no seriously I do
As a youngster, I always wanted to know who was faster - Speedy or Roadrunner. At 44, I'm still asking the same question.
That sort of question occupies much of my conscious thought too. I think it's a question of scale. No doubt Roadrunner could cover a larger distance in a shorter space of time, but you would have to calculate their relative speeds to come to a fair and accurate conclusion. To determine the fastest I would suggest a specified time as the pre-determined constant, divided by the distance covered, divided by the body mass of the individual subject. Or do you think stride pattern would provide a more conclusive deciding variable?
It would be hard to measure, because much of the perception of RR's speed comes from defying the laws of physics/nature/space-time continuum, whereas Gonzales only ever appeared to be incredibly fast. I'm not sure if I dreamt it, but I seem to recall one episode where Speedy and RR are racing, but I don't think you saw who won as Wile. E Coyote and Sylvester got in on the act. I'm off to Google and YouTube now to see if I can find it.
yes there are innumerate factors to consider. Being pursued by a ravenous coyote is bound to give Roadrunner an extra edge but you could offset this apparent advantage by the time taken to stop and paint illusional tunnels on the sides of mountains. Saying that, Gonzales' ability to flee La Cantina at high speed carrying a hundred times his body weight in cheese would suggest a superior strength to body-mass ratio. It's a hard one to call. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVxwSqnrMcQ&feature=related
