Should probably have been more comfortable than it was, but we must have a decent side coming together if we can score 3 and make several more chances without even looking like we played that well. Penalty shout in the first half looked blatant. I thought Colchester deserved credit, they attacked in numbers when they got the chance, and it was a proper football match with two honest sides giving it their all. The only bloke on the pitch that you could really say had a bad night was the daft sod reffing it. A lot of players are playing with real confidence now - Winnall, Cole, Hourihane, Berry, Bailey and Cranie especially. Bailey was my MOTM tonight, with the phases we controlled being those where he took a grip of possession. I like that he looks forward so often - there are a lot of players in his role that don't do that. We still seem to have a tendency to switch off as a collective for 10-15 mins at a time (like in the first half tonight), and if we keep doing it it'll cost us some games, but you can't boss 90 mins of every match. Another enjoyable match that ended with the right result. You reds.
We had more than enough chances to win comfortably. Winnall blazing over from 8 yards after good work from Cranie, turned down penalty shout, Ramage's 'offside' goal to name but a few. Their two goals were unfortunate as well. Lucky ricochets.
