I don't know too much about yourselves, but you'll be coming up against a very good side in Oxford United. They've got quality all over the pitch and would be fighting for the play-offs with this squad in League One this season I reckon, one massive bonus for you is that one of their key players Lundstram is suspended after making a stupid tackle on Friday against Stevenage. I'll be hoping for a Barnsley win, would be nice to see Conor Hourihane lifting up silverware, even if it is the undervalued Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Thanks for that. Hopefully it's a good day Hope you're back in League One next season, but we don't play you
I always have thought well of Plymouth fans after you beat us 3-1 at Oakwell, think it was the season you went down from Championship. We were 1-0 up at HT then were shocking in 2nd half and deservedly lost 3-1. Then after some Plymouth fans came up to us and said good luck for rest of the season. No boasting because of their win, just very nice. You've had some very tough times so you deserve to get back up, and hopefully in the Championship not too much later
Anyone would think we are playing Real Madrid the way some go on. Oh and to had some actual facts to the op , Oxford will be playing a team that really are going for the play offs in league one. Not hypertically.
does anybody remember the 1-0 win against plymouth at oakwell, on easter saturday in 1991. mark smith got whacked and played on with a really bloodied head bandage (like terry butcher did for england that time).
Aye, played on a pitch that resembled Blackpool beach, they had that big nutjob up front ( turner?) that did smith, didn't O'Connell get winner?,sithi.
monkey tennis eh, did partridge ever get a second series ? (cook pass partridge on the car lol). yes it was a shocker of a pitch, and it was a badly taken penalty by steve agnew that proved to be the only goal. was it robbie turner and steve morrisson who were the two 'nutjobs' on the day.
Aye Robbie Turner thats the loon I'm on about, isn't Morrisson that flat top sporting big lump who used to play for 'udders? ,built more like a rugby player than a footballer, sithi
yep, thats andy morrisson (not steve) the total thug who went to huddersfield. and clint marcelle made mince meat out of him during our 96-7 promotion winning season
Wasn't that the game where Rory Fallon scored from what seemed like 150 miles out. Lobbed Steele who'd come off his line late on to try spring an equaliser. Sent from my I-Oven using the internets
I'm glad you've noticed mate, we're playing 4th tier Oxford United! Who were non-league not long ago, we've spent most of the last decade in the 2nd tier. Without being Billy Big ****** we should be hammering em regardless of their current position, they play Mansfield, Newport, Stevenage week in week out
And they beat Swansea in the FA cup. If we go into it thinking we only have to turn up to win, we're asking for trouble
Correct. We should've beaten Altrincham, too, but football doesn't work that way and, hopefully, we've learnt our lesson of underestimating the opposition.
Cheers _ I think its going to a really tough game and any Barnsley fan expecting us to win just because we are currently a league higher is being far too optimistic. I find I really cant call this one. I think there will be one goal in it, it could well go to extra time and could go either way.
I agree. I think Oxford are a very capable side, but neither are they Barcelona. So some perspective is needed. I honestly believe that Barnsley are the best side in League 1 since we got our act together tactically towards the end of LJ's tenure. The table since 1st Jan proves that. We have nothing to fear. May the best team win.
nice words or do you need to gerragrip? Reality is its a Cup Final and we WILL turn up.or are you winding PilgrimPeace up. Come and have a drinl and a chat in JJ Moons my friend - enjoy the game and the day
