Football knowledge, experience, passion, will to win, defends his players but lambasts them when it’s needed - and a sense of humour. Why would we (or anyone) want a manager like that?
But I think we had to endure the Swansea game as part of a longer term plan to get the team setup properly. Trouble is, we should've seen it a couple of months earlier.
In a perverse way I enjoyed the first 43 mins of the Swansea game. I thought we looked organised and could see what we were trying to do. Then they had two efforts on goal at the end of the half and I could see all we'd done was waste 43 mins not having a go ourselves and they could pick us off at will. After half time we had a bit more purpose and up to the loss of concentration from Palmer were starting to get bodies forward. We were having our best spell when they scored.
What negativity? Hes had about 5/6 training sessions with a squad drained of confidence.First session involved making us harder to beat after that training aimed at making us more offensive. In the short time he's been here there's been a positive impact and we are looking far better.
We are talking progress from an all time low in that Swansea game. Settled for a point in the other two rather than going for the 3.
The all time low was before the Swansea game. Can understand him being negative when he inherits a team that would concede an easy chance whenever the opposition simply hacked it down the wide areas.
