Defensively we will be interesting. Nyatanga is not good enough for Championship football and neither is Cowgill at the moment. He is obviously gonna go with Roberts and Mawson as the main partnership but we need a third choice.

hey brummie tyke lol, its not surprising walsall are being bitter about bradshaw. i think we would have felt the same, as they have lost most of their best players since the play offs havent they. but after today im liking what im hearing about bradshaw and payne especially.

How can you say anybody is good against a pub side in a meaningless game best to wait until we,ve played a few games in the championship.

Walsall have done the exact same as Swindon did last season.

Had a good season and cashed in on all of their best players.

I get the feeling we would have done the same had we not gone up.

I understand the comments about it being a meaningless friendly but we dominated the game and hit them for 6.

Can recall past years when we've struggled to a 1-0 win against teams like this and then said its just about getting match sharpness.

We did what we were expected to do and to me that is satisfying.

Conference (South) is a long way up from "pub side" level.

Amazing how often people talk down non-league sides as if they have no idea how to play football. I know we have real tests to come, but it would be nice to enjoy this winning streak we are on, wouldn't it?

Hope it continues in to the season that's when it matters not friendliest against non league sides.

Spot on. Conference level really isn't as poor as people think. And add in the fact they will be desperate to do well and impress against league teams and you have a good friendly to warm up for the league side friendlies.

Aye, anybody would think we've great records against non-league sides. People already forgotten the Chester and Altrincham 'displays' the last two years?

We've a long history of struggling against so-called inferior opposition, either at 4th Division level or below. Think of all the FA and League Cup capitulations over the years. We might get beaten by Northampton in the first home game - hope not though.

I'm happy to take a win wherever it comes from. That's what it's all about, surely - winning matches. Nobody turns up to enjoy watching them lose, do they?
