Small room at the Cricket Club in Darfield
Cryne – quiet, softly spoken obviously when you hear at first hand what he’s done in his life he’s a genius
Shepherd – quick witted, very intelligent, fighter pilot in his younger days, sharpe as a pin with the answers
There was a lot said, these are just some of the points made

Ritchie has been constantly offered money for more players – but has refused
Ritchie seems to want to coach young players only
Patrick in the long run wants someone else to take over the club
There was a Premiership player lined up last week
Gordon has stopped reading this message board because of all the crazy comments and rumours on here
Burns would have stayed but wanted more money
We need over 11k attendances to break even
We have the second highest wage bill in this league
Patrick says Gordon is the best business man he has come across in his life
Will lose £3.5M this year and £1.5M next year, but things are going in the right direction after blunders by Ridsdale
Both admire John Dennis but there has been differences in the past that have caused problems

There was a load more – when I remember other stuff I will post it

    Loads said about players leaving

They know who is staying and who is leaving but will offer no contracts at this time as it will unsettle the team i.e. some getting contracts and others not

how did you get to find out about it....

    didn't know it was happening...

    also

could you elaborate on "only wants to coach young players" does this mean he ignores the others? or he is concentraiting more on the young...

or are you just making this up just to back up your claims that he is crap, cos a couple of the comments ARE a concern if true

Your right mate, it was a good session with them. I think they seemed to work well together. Cryne talked as more of a fan, with Shepherd giving the more business minded viewpoint. Then again, its easy to say you should buy someone when you are actually putting your money where your mouth is.

Cryne spoke well about the structure of football, how its barmy managers have more power than the owners do, including Richie and how you can only realistically attempt to get into the business if you'd played the game first.

He also said Gudjon was the best manager to actually talk to, Richie can be hard at times and Paul Hart was a nightmare! No suprise there then!

    hmm.......

Ritchie has been constantly offered money for more players.

Burns would have stayed but wanted more money.

    *****************************************************************

They seem to be saying that money is available to strengthen the squad but not to stop it being weakened.

    And Burns was under contract.

    it's just that...................

in "off the record" chats sometimes things are said which shouldn't be in the public domain-glad to hear it was public-wish I'd seen it was on-why no publicity beforehand I wonder

RE: LTT...............what did you think of

Good to see someone was well prepared!!I was up the back, near the bar!

The break even figure was a good one to ask, as its an easy one for the fans to relate to, knowing we should get 10500 to 11000 through the gates.

I was going to ask Cryne what he'd like to see replace the whole academy system and how it'd benefit us, but couldn't manage to get a word in! Oh well.

    It's odd

how the price of tickets have gone up quite considerably yet the break even figure for attendances needed has gone up from around 7,000 to 11,000 since ridsdale left.

    RE: hmm.......

maybe they are saying that burns wnated more money, the money was available but Ritchie didn't think it would be worth re-signing burns on the contract he wanted?

    does that make sense?!

it does indeed make sense - and its a good point to argue, and could well be true.

Either somebody got their figures wrong or something has changed

Presumably the wage bill is less now than when Ridsdale was here. For example Mcphail must surely now be on less than when he started? Donovan etc are off the wage bill, Ritchie's wages must be lower than previous managers, increased revenue from going further inthe cup than expected (around 50k in prize money alone if I remember correctly).
