I always prefer us to play well and win. However, if we can't do that, then simply win. But, for me, we looked like a team in transition of style from one Head Coach to another. A wonderful strike from Frieser, after a superb pass from Palmer settled it. The Coventry team kicked Romal Palmer from pillar to post and nothing was said or done. Carlton Morris was kicked out of the match before half time, yet again nothing was said or done. In the second half, the referee suddenly decided he had to be the centre of attention. What a pathetic, abject display of refereeing. Were we lucky? Possibly, but I don't care. I've read enough times on here "There's no such thing as luck" when we've played well and not got the win our performance deserved. Had Romal Palmer stayed on for longer, he would've been my MOTM. Assuming the useless referee didn't send him off! I've gone for Liam Kitching, instead. Lovely ovation for Eric Winstanley & then for the young lad.
Totally agree We were under the cosh most second half and passes were going astray etc . It the thing I took from this match was the celebrations ,not the goal per se although they are always great but after the penalty save . The team celebrated as if we’d won a cup match against a prem side . That showed the togetherness which IMO bodes well for the coming season . The only thing I have ever asked from any BFC team I have supported over the years is to give 100% in defeat ,draw or win and I think wr got that in droves today IMO .
Abject refeering is an understatement, so teh least said about that the better. Palmer still MOTM for me, although all of the back 3 looked solid. Our "problem" appears to be transitioning from defence to attack, the front 3 looked out of the game for long periods. Lots to work on, but I'll take the 3 points
Have to agree with everything in your post @JLWBigLil. Palmer was amazing today, and that turn he did in the second half that left 2 Coventry players floundering was brilliant
