Still trying to work out the exact date the picures of tarn were taken. Narrowed it down, through various things to the a fortnight in early August 2002.

Now, what day is it? Some things tell me it is Saturday around 2 pm, other things point to it being a weekday. Any further deductions?

I heard it had been narrowed down to between the 15th to the 17th. That confirms it probably. So it WAS Saturday. Thanks.

Judging by the fact there ain't many cars parked up on our street - I'd go for a weekday

Well, there is evidence it may well be a weekday. Motorway with a lot of lorries, work car parks full etc., but the general concensus seems to think it's Saturday. I suspect it may be Thursday because of the absence of my car on the drive. There also seems to be a lot of delivery wagons - would they really be delivering on a Saturday afternoon...AND...on every football pitch, oakwell, milmoor, elland road etc.. there is no activity. There is no activity at Headingley either.

We worked out it was a Saturday because of the car park at work.

Three offices, two of which work saturday. The section of the car park for those that don't work Saturdays was empty.

    A couple more clues

John Rideal House staff car park is nearly full.

I believe you can't get in there without a pass so it would be empty on a Saturday.

The position of the shadows suggests well on into the afternoon.

There are no goal posts at Oakwell - is it pre-season?

Amazing deductions from all of you!

Was it the grass in the precinct that gave you an idea of the date?

Well, we knew from the publishers that it was in 2002, the grass in Peel Square was but one of many clues!!

17 blue buses in the Tracky Sheds also pointed to the week ending the 17th August. Schools closed etc..

Judgin by mine, my mates and some buses movements, I am 100% certain it is friday, around 3.10pm.

I'm therefor 99% certain the picture was taken at 3.10pm, on Friday 16th August 2002.

Question is, was int a satellite or plane that took the shots....

I haven't got Google earth but I know exactly where I was at that time, because I used to keep a diary for work.
On this map where the (1) on the M621 junction is, under it there should be a white van. :)
