He came out of the offices looking a bit bemused at the size of the queue, saying
"It was like this at 9am"
"WE KNOW WE WERE HERE!" was the reply from several. There then ensued a bit of a debate with one guy in particular making his feelings known. The general story from GS was that:
They only had 4 availble terminals which are "tied up to a national network".
These were installed this season based upon likely demand.
Today's demand was "exceptional"
There was not a chance of getting in more terminals.
BFC wouldn't ask for more than they needed as they cost so much & it isn't viable.
Didn't hear any more as I 'd got inside and was glad of the shade & wanted my tickets.
To be fair he was trying to explain & seemed genuinely suprised how long folks had been out there.
The thing that disappointed me most was the lack of any BFC rep patrolling up & down explaining what was going on... in Spinksy's day he'd have been out there all day looking after folks.

RE: spinksy???

Well whenever I've queued there he's been out there looking after folks..... and the "money grabber" as you would say is still watching the reds home & away - someone who probably cared more for BFC than anything else. He was badly done to in my opinion.

In the defence of BFC....

There was one guy walking up and down the queue letting folk know what was happening and asking if they had any questions etc...

And the box office staff did a very good job today. Worked their tits off for us lot. (Y)

Don't know where you were queueing then because I was at the front of the prem queue all night and he was about when we started queueing and was there from early in the morning. However I dont accept the claim the ticketing was handled any better then than now,its always a balls up when demand is high, but its no different at any other club.Want a ticket for Monday go to the Galpharm they havent sold out

Yeh il second that! And the queues are so long because folk arent just taking there own season tickets they are taking a hell of alot more than there own hence why it takes so long! Yesterday i got there at 11:20 and finally left Oakwell at 17:45!
I just it was worth the wait now!

Lesson for next time

It was the rush to secure an away ticket which caused all the panic. The home game won't even sell out.
So in future - Sell the away tickets cash only from the 10 East Stand turnstyles handing over one of those Special Match Vouchers that we have in our ST books but never seem to use. Could have sold all 4,000 in a minimal amount of time. Then if any fan wanted to nip into the box office and queue for a home ticket, they could do - or come back at a later date.
None ST ticket holders - That was well organised and no one queued for more than 5 minutes so do exactly same again but through Ponty End turnstyles - simple.

Fff me mate you make it sound so simple, the reason you couldn't do that is....... er........ there isn't one.[IMG]

Ok then here's another one for you, re-organise the NHS, cure all traffic jams and make the trains run on time, then we'll take a look at this ticket thingy you're proposing.[IMG]
