Do you reckon that's the end of the matter then?
It would seem like it if they have rejected it and we aren't going to increase the offer.
Doh.
Would've been a great signing.

Fair dos that if Bradford need the cash to bring players in, which according to the Yorkie Post they do, then letting them know we are open to discuss is a wise move. flip side is, if I were Bradford Chairman, I'd have gone public with the bid mainly to draw other offers from elsewhere, in the hope of getting best price.
Rhodes, Bradford chairman, always holds out for more. Recently told Edgehill there was no deal, then signed a few days later. When he bought the club he squeezed out the Flamingo land owner who had put up the money to save the club. Gordon knows this and so won't get into a bidding frenzy like Rhodes would want. Gordons just backing off and if there is a deal to be made it's up to Rhodes. He's playing it right.
Agreed noted that Gordon has said "he's not the only one we're looking at", ie smoke and mirrors. I reckon at £200k he's still be good business, but I suspect wages will scupper the deal even if we did agree.
But then again we haven't spoken to his agent/drinking buddie yet and if he can match Super Johnnie pint for pint, at nearly 37 he can't have much more left in his legs.
RE: But then again we haven't spoken to his agent/drinking buddie yet I hope the transfer comes off Bingley Red, I really do. Do you think it will yourself?

Someone should have told Andy about it

BARNSLEYmanager Andy Ritchie has moved quickly to distance himself from radioreports linking the Reds with a swoop for Bradford City striker DeanWindass. Reports on TalkSport this morning had linked the Oakwell club with ashock move for the 36-year-old, who has bagged 13 goals for the Bantamsthis season. However, Andy told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "Funnily enough someone askedme about that the other week and I told them that any manager in thisor probably the higher division would be interested in Dean if he wasavailable but I do not think Bradford would even consider it. "As far as I am concerned there is no truth whatsoever in those rumours and it has not come from here at all". From the official Site

No, he's nearly 37, lives 2 minutes from the Apperley Bridge training ground. He turned down £10k a week at Wigan, Rhodes let him choose if he wanted to go and he chose no. Only way he'll move is if he gets more stick from the crowd.
RE: Someone should have told Andy about it Why dont they bid 6 figures for a younger striker who were guna get more service from?
We've already got younger strikers and none of them are doing the business regularly. we need someone on the pitch who wont 'get bullied' out of the game. and someone who's proven to be clinical. he got 28 f.ucking goals last season for godsake.....jeez...
RE: We've already got younger strikers yeah but surely we havent got the money to pay £100,000 for a player that we might get a season and half out of
We only want half a season if he scores enough goals to get us promoted, we can start again when in Championship. he's 36, so what. which is better a few **** young uns or a good old un? Academy? pah, waste of space. signing Windass would mark a turning point in this Administration for me, cos thus far, they've showed more ambition in getting a new club into the Ryman than getting real about us making it back up a league.
RE: We only want half a season well they could have tried get scott taylor hes allways scored goals in this league
sorry but i don,t agree, glad he,s not coming we need better defenders we,ve just bought 2 strikers lets get the best out of them.
Some strange deals going off .... We were supposed to be interested in Scott Taylor from Plymouth and he has just gone to MK Dons .... but for £100k!!! Other players seem to be moving for 'undisclosed fees' and there are wild guesses as to what they are. No one seems to be able to confirm that £100k is our actual offer for Dean Windass. If it is and we have, or expect shortly to have, another £100k to spend, it could be spent a lot better elsewhere. If it is a striker - I would back the Hayter bid, but I don't see why we need him. Can't help feeling the Windass deal is some kind of cover - is his agent just talking up the price with another club? Is he really after a new deal at Valley Parade? Just doesn't seem logical to want another striker when we have four, two of them signed this season. Wonder if a Shuker deal has anything to do with Newell's bung allegation!
