:((

There are 4 sections regarding "Behavioural Competency". Each section has a title, and you are to write no more than 250 words in each section.

Titles of these sections are; Improving performance level 1, Making the best use of resources level 1, Building constructive working relationships level 1, Engaging effectively with customers (internal and external) level 1

If I could just get an example of what to put that would be a bonus. Otherwise, looks like I have no chance of getting the job.

    whats the job ?

For each question think of a situation you have been in. Explained the action that you took to remedy the situation and then evaluate what you got out of that situation. S-A-E . I should be a guru.

Doing it that way means that you can split each section into 80 odd words which will make it easier for you.

It does help, CityTyke, cheers. But....

I cannot really understand what the questions want, and even then, my job isnt that complicated to warrant these questions.

Those 2 are probably the ones I understand most, but

the first 2 I dont have a clue with. I think I could magic something up for the 2 you mention.

....forms are always stupidly hard to fill in. You should see my annual application form for my Russian Visa.

    cheers Merde Tete

think im gonna need the luck here. I meet all other criteria, but I just dont understand this part at all. Never come across this sort of thing before. Having said that, last job application i filled in was 10 years ago.

Can only imagine how stupid the Russian Visa form would be.

I have covered Key Tasks that the job requires, but im sure someone said that on this type of form, what you put into Behavioural Competencies really can affect the outcome of whether you get the chance or not.

    Improving performance.....

You should indicate your willingness to self assess your skills and competances, identify your own strengths and weaknesses and identify ways to improve weaknesses and build on strengths. It would be nice for you to show an example of this you have done (in any context). Mention you'd identify courses (if appropriate) or role models to assist.

Best use of resources; more tricky depends on the sector. It is likely that you'd mention that you could make an assesment on the most effeicient way to carry out tasks. You could indicate that you might wish to make changes to working practices; set up new protocols / systems to avoid duplication of effort, shop around and negotiate to reduce expenditure, recycle to improve office / workshop ethics etc.

Hope some of this was / is useful.

    Good luck mate.

    Unbelievable

that a Personnel Department/Human Resources Manager, has time to wade through all that. If I was CEO I'd be questioning the qualities of those who devised the form.
