Got back from Wembley an hour ago

just coming down enough to even try to say what a day I had today... anyone who says that the Football League Trophy is a pointless event seriously needs to go and see a shrink... Its anything but pointless. A crowd just a few 'K' short of 60K tells a real story. I left the Dragons Cave in S. Wales at 08:30 and was at Uxbridge station and parked up by 11:30 it took what seemed like an age to get through the ticket machine as many others had taken this avenue of a £1:50 car park and a return trip for £12:00.. bargain in my books.. but I was walking down the steps from Wembley Park Tube by 13:00 so loadsa time to savour it all. I was in the stadium a good hour before kick off and the entertainment was excellent. The last half hour before the kick off was especially good... its beyond me why some where coming in with seconds to spare.. and up to 10 minutes of the game gone... I seriously cannot understand why a pint of beer or two is better than seeing your club in the national stadium . The game IMHO was a good advert for the competition and Leagues 1 & 2.. Barnsley just did not seem to have turned up in the first half... me and my Big mate kev (JLWBL) looked each other at the interval and were worried to say the least. "hopefully 'Hecky' will give them a bit of grief and get them going" we both agreed... the opening of the second half was as dire as the first.. AND THEN .. we SCORED... from that moment on we took a hold of the game... then we scored again.. YAYYY... I looked at JLWBL and said " surely that's it .. surely we cannot fail now"... and within seconds Oxford scored... So at that moment Kev took it upon himself to thrash me to within an Inch of my life. The Pain was taken and I was made the time keeper for the 6 minutes of squeaky bum time........ and then it was "CELEBRATION TIME... YAAHOOO"

A totally fantastic day, and yer know what... if I were a certain Mr Cryne, I would be asking a certain Mr Heckinbotham in to the office tomorrow to discuss an elongated contract as Barnsley Manager... he is a deserved candidate ... and then some.
