    We didn't release him

We sold him. And made a profit on him too I believe. Amazingly.

Similar type of player.........but I always thought he was better than McPhail

I thought he was good for us. he had certain elements to his game such as free kicks and penalties that could always give you the edge over opponents.

Good left peg on him, would have been a good squad player for us at the moment and would have fitted right in this "shoestring budget" we are preaching to the press.

Forgot about that. I also enjoyed that little half step he used to do as if he was ready to wholeheartedly pursue the person with the ball and chase him down, but then decided against it as, although he obviously really, really wanted to get the tackle in, he reluctantly had to pull out as he'd have been a little bit late. By about a month and a half. So, back to standing in the middle of the field, looking gormless and pointing it is...

Seem to remember that a few clubs were after him in the Championship but he dropped down to League 1 with Peterbrough 'cos they offered him the best wage

Talk of 7k a week around their local media at the time of signing but this was denied because many of Darragh MacAthoney businesses had gone into liquidation during the recession, he lost nearly £100 million according to the Rich Lists. Still wouldn't mind being a quid behind him though.

    Completely different player now

Was toss when he was here, was brilliant when he left. We could hardly have sold him for 500k could we.

Im not bigging the fella up, but we used to play him out wide or sitting central.. Peterbro play him in the Jacob role, attacking midfield.. and he has probably double the amount of goals and assists than Wonderfield...
