Thought him and Togwell did really well. Best midfield display for a while - probably something to do with Pete and Steve doing a bit of work as well!
On today's showing Best keeping performance - Lucas
Best Defensive performance - Nyatanga
Best Midfield performance - McCann
Best Striking performance - Ferenzci

Now all these guys have something in common, I just can't think what it could be...

RE: On today's showing Best keeping performance?? Did Lucas have one save to make? He held a couple of crosses well but then made an absolute hash of another and was lucky to escape. Lets not get too carried away eh?
RE: On today's showing
Not sure I agree about the keeping performance. He didnt have a right lot to do and did seem to do a fair amount of flapping at crosses etc.

RE: On today's showing I'm not, mate.
Neither keeper had a great deal to do but I felt Lucas did well today simply for always looking for someone in space to release the ball quickly rather than saunter round his box for 10 minutes and hoof it upfield.
I don't necessarily think he's the best keeper of the two of them, only the best performance of the two we saw in today's game. And of course I was making the point that most of our best performers were post-Ritchie signings.

Lucas did well Particularly being called upon as a sub and I didn't see him warming up at half time - but I don't think he did anything that Colgan wouldn't have done....nice to see though that we appear to have a decent backup
RE: Lucas did well I saw 5 things he did that Colgan wouldn't have.
He came out for 3 crosses. He caught 2 of them.

RE: On today's showing A keeper is only as good as the defence in front of him - and vice versa - I thought both Colgan and Lucas looked reasonably solid today but let's face it - how many times will they have to face a 25 stone , beer swilling freak who couldn't hit the proverbial barn door and a forward who was born in the 1960s? (though I still wished we had him - not taking anything away from the Magyars of course.) I'ts a funny business this not talking to Radio Dee dah - immature at the very least. yet another PR own goal. Radio Sheffield may be biased towards the Sheffield teams (no suprise, it's called Rad Sheffield after all) but they are good at asking the questions that's on the typical fans mind. Shep & Co must have realised that when tehy got into this thing it was never gonna be all roses in the garden. A great night was topped off by hearing John Pearsons nearly in tears after the Luton game. I can't imagine Derek Parker would be so passionate about the Reds.
the hoof up field certainly worked for 1st goal but then again Colgan was in the side when Ritchie was here so he `s rubbish. All this bickering is getting too fecking childish. GROW UP FFS
RE: the hoof up field certainly worked for 1st goal Steady on fella.
As I said earlier, I don't necessarily think one competent half makes him a better keeper than Colgan. Just that he did impress me tonight. This is not any attempt to slag off Ritchie's signings - the more quality players we have in the squad the happier I am, no matter who brought them in. We started the season with a reasonble starting eleven but the cover for injuries and form loss was woefully lacking.
Ritchie is gone and he is not coming back. Some are struggling to move on from this. I am simply trying to remind folk that there is life after Ritchie. Davey has brought in lots of players who HAVE strengthened the squad, even if the first-team impact has been lacking. Well, tonight a few showed that they might make their mark in this league before the season is out. There is cause for cautious optimism.

Agree, his best performance by a mile, still rather have Howard in the middle though, but fair play to the lad.
