Grayson has already been installed by one bookmaker as a 16-1 shot for the Deepdale hotseat, though it's hugely unlikely that he would consider &ndash; or be allowed &ndash; to make the move down the road.

Even if the idea did enter his mind for a fleeting moment, the thought of the potential backlash from Pool fans would surely be enough to put him off.

And Seasiders chairman Karl Oyston would risk a massive uprising should he give his manager permission to speak with local enemies North End.

However, The Gazette understands that the idea of Burnley asking for permission to interview Grayson is not out of the question.

Sources at Turf Moor have suggested that the Pool boss is a much-admired man and that there could be some form of contact from chairman Barry Kilby to his Blackpool </div></div></div></div><div class="va-bodytext" id="va-bodytext">counterpart.

That will concern Pool supporters, though it's worth noting that Mike Newell remains hot favourite for the Clarets post.

Being talked about in connection with other jobs is becoming the norm for Grayson. This season he has already been linked with Norwich and Leicester vacancies. The Leicester post has still not been filled.

    Speculation

When asked about the speculation, Grayson says: &quot; That's all it is &ndash; speculation. It is always flattering to be linked with other posts but it's bound to happen because as a club we've done OK over the past 18 months.

&quot; It's the same with the players &ndash; if certain individuals are doing well within the team then they get watched too and people begin linking them with other clubs.

&quot;Until someone tells me differently, I'm Blackpool FC manager and I am just concentrating on preparing for the next game, as I always do.</div>
