http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/26351353 When he was a strip of a lad at "only 90". Lovely story about a cup game against Preston when he came up against the legendary Tom Finney. And so the carnage of 2016 continues. I can't remember a year like it for people of my lifetime passing on. The bad news is there are still two more days before the year turns round again, and then we start this process we call life once more. It's true what they say. When you are younger you think you are immortal. Pension plans - what's the point? Retirement planning - can't even see it in the distance, so why bother. But then the years roll by and you count backwards and think......how did that happen? Where did those twenty go, or thirty, or forty...... We're the lucky ones for now. We're watching a football team that is genuinely worth watching and could well continue like that for some time. But, then again, time marches on, and changes come with it. I'm afraid I can't get too sad about the death of some individuals. Those who abuse their bodies or, even worse, abuse others can shuffle off their mortal coils without a thought from me. Life is far too precious to mess about with it. Others though I do give pause and silent remembrance. I never met Norman, I never knew him other than a great servant of my football club. Loyalty like that is worth remembering.
