Dunkirk spirit, chance to have a right old moan, almost as good as match day with Trevor Kettle reffing. Freezing cold windy weather added to the mix, slow turnstiles, panic when I had to bring on a sub for the last 2 hours queuing, it made for FA Cup drama of the highest order. In fact it was better than when we beat Chelsea. Only regret - missing the nice mannered fella behind me attacking the steward on the car bonnet, I'd just left 10 minutes before. That would have made it a perfect day. Up the Reds
Great experience? You sure. Funny how we have different takes on the same thing. I did however catch the incident with the steward.
Bit of a strange one Think it was just after we had been moved (we were in 35 pound queue) across to some other turnstiles to allow those in the £45 queue to spread across. I was told it was because they didnt want any of the cars parked getting damaged. The guy in the queue got a bit irate and started ranting about being in the queue for 2 or 3 hours and i think the steward must have said something back cos the next thing i saw was the guy moving towards the steward and then grabbing hold of him. Ironically he shoved him onto the nearest car (those that we were being moved away from) before his mate calmed him down. I think it all got sorted soon after though
RE: Bit of a strange one Was the steward one of the Supporters Trust volunteers or Shaun Doyle's mob?
My mate that took over queueing from me said the Steward was being a bit flippant / smirking "only following orders, shut it or you'll not get a ticket etc" Soon shut up when this fella put him over the car bonnet. BTW I was pillocking about it being a great experience...... My plan would have been....... £55 tickets - sold from ALL the East Stand turnstiles £45 tickets - sold from ALL the Pontefract Endturnstiles £35 tickets - sold from ALL the North Stand turnstiles £25 tickets - sold from ALL the West Stand turnstiles To open a turnstile for 8 hours costs £48 (£6 per hour x 8 hours). As business decision it is a "no-brainer", and queues would have been minimal compared today. All we do as a business, is SELL TICKETS FOR FOOTBALL MATCHES, with a few minor ancillary activities attached.

I was just a bit behind that bloke that started with that steward, i heard the woman giving him a right telling off for it though, was all handbags really i thaught, it dident achieve anything really.
