    Utter Bilge

With a few exceptions (hormonal illnesses etc) people who are overweight eat too much and do too little exercise.

We all know what we should do to lose weight, and it is our choice whether we do it or not.

Before I get attacked I myself am slightly overweight, but I don't go around blaming other people for it.

    Couldn't agree more...

    Pathetic isn't it............

&quot;I'll just have 2 double cheeseburgers and chips swilled down with a gallon of non-diet coke followed by a vat of ice cream-I don't really want to but the government hasn't done enough to stop me-and if I develop morbid illnesses I'll sue them because it's their fault-here kids go and get a double whoppa each yourself-don't forget the icecreams-andremember it's double cheese pizza and chips for tea&quot;</p>

    Cheers

A bit better, still off work though, will be OK for Friday

You're right I did lose a few pounds yesterday, but that will soon go back on at the week-end
    :D

I have traced the problem to a bottle of dodgy Californian Ruby Cabernet which I disposed of as a night cap after my long drive. Thought it tasted funny.......

Yes Fi it was from California in Germany, and yes paul.d I drank the entire bottle.

After a 20 hour drive if you go straight to bed you just see road signs, junctions, lanes etc - you need a "night cap" to help you get off to sleep :D :D

You're right about the English beer though - can't wait for Friday/Saturday

that's what he's telling you ... it'll be some German rubbish, and nothing to do with several trips to the curry house.

    Sorry

I bow to your superior wine knowledge I sort of know that you have carried out extensive research on the subject.

    But geography....

Californian wine from Germany? You've been drinking too much Greek Champagne!

    RE: Sorry

Well at least I know that there's a nearer port to Hamburg than Calais... and before you start going on about long crossings, if you get on the ferry at Rotterdam you can sit down with a nice glass of Pinot Grigio (French obviously!) whilst someone else does the driving... have a kip, get to Hull & its an hour home.
I'm sure yours was a well thought out plan though.

    Explanation

We have travelled the Hull Rotterdam route many times and I agree it is the best and shortest way, driving wise. However it has recently become very expensive, unless you are on a mini-cruise or short break trip which are offered at prices subsidised by normal travellers like myself.

Also I had a multi trip voucher for the Dover Boulogne route which we used a lot when we had our dog as we were not sure about leaving him in a cage for 14 hours on the Hull Rotterdam route. I decided to go that way because the crossing was effectively "free" (well I am a Yorkshireman) and whilst it is good fun on the north sea route it is not always fun on your own.

Rant over it's still great to be back even with the last remnants of gut rot.

Ok truce called! I need to get some work done here anyway ... can't be arguing with you all day about your love of Liebfraumilch.
