Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928) Director, Writer and star Buster Keaton pulls off a ground breaking stunt standing absolutely still. The front of a building detatches and crashes down around him whilst he is saved by the window. Half the crew walked off the set because they were sure Keaton would be kiled. Worraguy.
Watched Hero Yesterday..... Watched it all in Chinese when over there a couple of years ago and it was fantastic, especially the attack on the calligraphy school, even though I didnt understand a fecking word. when you critiqued it the other day I had to watch it again, but this time in English. Won't be watching it again.
RE: Watched Hero Yesterday..... I think these films are very much a matter of taste. The martial arts scenes just bore me stupid so, like Crouching Tiger, they have to have something besides. Hero just didn't.
I thought Crouching Tiger was awful, Hero was ten times better as was House of Flying Daggers. CT bored me senseless.
lol Not at all matey. I thought CTHD was frightfully dull. Hero was a fantasticly intertwined film, far superior to CTHD in story and beauty. I see you saw the Machinist the other night. Good film.
Watched Alexander as well. Races along a bit but a nice insight into the life of a very influential man. Angelina Jolie has found her forte. Also nice to see gary Stretch again although I think he was in there for his striking appearance rather than his acting ability.
RE: hehe Actually that's not funny is it? In the present climate you might find yourself bent over in the local nick. Heh heh.
Very subjective. I enjoyed it but I was interested in the historical side. It's more interest over entertainment.
RE: hehe Well we live in interesting times, mind you, i've been called worse mate by folk i don't like. No doubt SYP will be winging there way to me now to take me down. ff
ah well I always prefer the historical aspect than entertainment. Especially in these days of dumbing things down.
