I appreciate this is nothing to do with football but I am baffled and confused as to how the the laws of physics are suspended by the washing machine fabric softener draw. I've spent hours studying this feature of my old and new washing machine. The problem with the old one - a Zanussi - was that it was constantly clogging up and never taking the softener. I inspected the drawer and concluded there was no way for the softener to get out - so it was clogging up. I could not work out how the drawer could ever be emptied- there is no hole at the bottom of the compartment - no secret trap door - no pipe to suck out the liquid - even if it was flooded by water to get the less dense liquid to overflow into the powder compartment it would always be full of water when I came add softener for the next wash. Concluding the engineers at Zanussi really did live in space where there is no gravity and were idiots - I used Bold powder with softener included and put it down to experience. 2 years later a new washing machine is purchased from Hoover (probably same company with a different badge ) and I immediatly sought satisfaction that the conditioner drawer issue would not present itself. However sure as eggs is eggs there is no physical way the conditioner can escape the drawer without being replaced by large quantities of water. So I follow the instructions, put my wife to the task - and she puts softener in the appropriate drawer - presses play and hey presto during the wash the chemicals disappear with no trace of how. Fekc me it's magic. I am totally and utterly stumped as to how the liquid is magicked out of the inescapable drawer and onto my soft pine summer meadow fresh clothes. Oh oracle of knowledge that is the BBS how the hell is this done!
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm I feel your pain brother! Chin up!
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm Get o'grady round to tip your machine upside down to empty it.
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm I wonder if I'm the only person who has read this and gone to the kitchen to check theirs. Mine slopes to one end where there is a quarter inch slot at the bottom for it to escape from.
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm Washing Machine.....whats one of them then ?????
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm It's that thing that Mrs Shenk takes the close to every once in a while. It is generally used shortly before the magical device that ladies call an iron.
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm Nah....totally lost me there. I don't know how it happens but I leave my mucky clothes on the bedroom floor and they just clean and straighten themselves AND get back into the drawers
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm It sounds like Crystal (biglils wife) has got a key to your house
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm Does your wife prefer front loading washing machines or top loading? That is assuming that the topic has ever come up of course
Re: Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compartm It's never really come up, though as she is American she thinks ours are slow and take too long, the ones in the US are larger and generally top loading which she would prefer when she's dropped a sock on the floor on the way to the washer and then switched on the washer!
Great mysteries of life - emptying the washing machine "fabric softener" compar Sure the water goes through the drawer, and as its on a slight tilt, gravity pulls it back out?
Re: Great mysteries of mine ... Socks I thought it was the womans job to match pairs of socks up after washing and roll them into a ball before putting them back in the drawer :nails:
