Will he play Steele for the first few games like last season then revert to Muller? Think Steele has looked the better of the 2 imho. Muller seems to have lost a little of what he had. 2 good goalie's for championship tho!

Could be a wake up for Heinz

May the best keeper get the jersey!

Steele should start as number one.

If he messes up consistently like Muller did this year then he deserves to be dropped.

Personally I dont think we need them both - rarely does a keeper get injured and form is normally cosistant. Id welcome bids for Muller.

The best keeper already has the jersey and his name is Luke Steele :) :) :)

I think he would not have signed without reasonable assurances he will get games nt

    Fantastic news re Steele, but

please folks lets not forget how fantastic Muller has been.... up until his injury we were talking about multi million pound moves. I'd stick my neck out & say Muller is the best keeper I've seen for Barnsley (on form/ minus injury).
Really glad Steele has signed, but let's not blame Muller for our position last season. He wasn't as good as previously had been, but he wasn't awful by any means.

I hope we can keep them both, but Davey has to go with form and not stick with a player for the sake of it.

Almost agree re Muller at his best, though Steele on top form (Liverpool!) runs him close plus Watson on his day

Don't be a clown DB, Muller was one of the best keepers in the league when he was on form. That's not to say Steele isn't any good, he's brilliant too.

If they are both on top form Muller would run away with it, but i'm glad we have 2 battling for the #1 spot, can only be good unless he does a Colgan.

    He's 90% sure he's leaving.
We'll regret it if he is allowed to go IMHO.

    RE: The End

Is that us trying to move him out or him getting bairn on because finally, after a multitude of mistakes and poor performances, he lost his place in team. If it's the latter we can do without the morngy sod.

    Totally different attitude

Steele was brought in when we had no other keeper, he did excellently and was dropped despite doing nothing wrong the second Muller got 'fit' (or not fit as the case may be). He then had to sit on the bench (when he was lucky) for the rest of the season watching Muller make mistake after mistake and was never given a chance to reclaim his place that he had never lost but was taken from him by the manager.

Muller on the other hand was brought to the club and instantly put in the nets at the expense of the number one keeper at the time who had not really done anything wrong (reid was to blame for most of the goals conceded). Muller was then only removed from the net after suffering injury and was then reinstated the second he was deemed fit despite Steele being on form. He was then allowed to make mistake after mistake and at no point did the manager even look like dropping him. Then right at the end of the season with his job in very serious doubt, fans booing both manager and keeper, davey bowed to public pressure and dropped Muller.

    Two totally different stories

How was Steele playing when he was orignally "dropped"?

I can't really remember him doing all that badly at the time, but certainly the team wasn't winning.

IMHO, Muller came back from his injury far too soon, and definately struggled as a result. My guess is that Davey was hoping to get big money for him...

    Steele was doing well

He'd been given the man of the match just before being dropped hadn't he?

And I agree, Muller was rushed back too early in an effort to save Daveys job

Did Heinz Muller run over a member of your family? Your view of him is so blinkered and unfair that its laughable.

So we should have kept Colgan?

Do I read you correctly? Are you saying he was no good at the start?

Muller made, I reackon, about three mistakes that cost us points. The worst was at Watford away but if fecking KO had scored like he should have done then we would have been 2-0 up and game over.
