What would Keith Hill achieve if he had the money to spend on quality players ????????????????????

..............especially a couple of quality strikers

This guy is ambitious..........if he can't go forward at Barnsley because of lack of funds, then someone from another club is going to tempt him with a bit of money.............which obviously, with what we have seen and heard over this last few months, Pat Cryne hasn't got

We have something special going on at Barnsley at the moment...........unfortunately this has coincided by the desperate need for funding which is undermining the efforts of both Hill and Flicker.

'We have something special going on at Barnsley at the moment'........bit early in the season for that statement Nudge and I remember very similar optimism and coments about Spackmans early days ......but its even earlier to be comparing Hill to Spackman in footballing terms

he has had some money, yes due to sales,
but he came here knowing the money was tight, we are skint, so are most other clubs and any who have cash want a big name manager, and look at leicester as now!
i reckon he'll see the job out as long as the fans let him or someone like a burnley/preston/lancs club came in

..........this Hill guy has brought players in from lower league teams for next to NOWT........and everybody, including pundits from the opposition, are saying that we are playing teams off the park

Give this guy a bit of cash.........because if he gets a bit of quality up front we will be in the top six by the end of the season

butterfield drinkwater stones clark digby rose rnl ect. thats what he does.

 

This is NOT a knee jerk reaction..........

So far this season I've seen us play Notts Forest, Southampton, Leicester, Watford
In all those games, if we had any sort of quality striker we would have won easily

With all accounts it was the same at Millwall and at Birmingham.

How long can this go on for before some positive action is taken to bring one or two quality strikers in ???

And no, I don’t want to go back to a Mark Robins type of team that was made up of mostly loanees.
But it would be nice to have a bit of icing on the cake.

Agree with this, i think Hill thrives on not having a big budget therefore being forced to develop players at his disposal. He loves being the underdog!

I agree Nudge, I honestly reckon we are only one, maybe two players short of being a top six side and then who knows. I hope we can keep hold of him for the long term because I genuinely believe we will go from strength to strength with him.

where are these quality strikers though?
rooney ruff patch and fergie wants to get him some action?
messi fancies a stint in england?
we got a top 4th division striker (our limit) and he's injured, most strikers 3rd 4th who's scoring still ain't in our range and 2nd won't be tempted loan or buy.
got to pick up a young premier on loan and see, though even thats a battle.
afraid its a wait n see season and hope the wage restriction coming up benefit us

 

What we are desperate for is a Kevin Phillips type of player........

...........someone who has been there and done it
Someone that is in their 30s and coming to the end of their career but still has that bit of quality and who is willing to go out on loan

There must be dozens of these lanquishing in the Premeir League

Not sure KH would want to include someone who couldn't work as hard as the rest of the team. This is the hardest working team I can remeber and even to include the likes of Danny Haynes instead of Andy Gray reduces the workrate. Also you would have to drop someone else or ask for even more effort from the likes of Butterfield to accomodate another striker

Agree about Haynes and his work rate and the effect on the team as a whole. Said the other day his injury could have been a blessing in disguise along with 1 or 2 others Hill seems to have dropped on an eleven thats working so long may they stay injury free.

Hill is already far better than Spackman having said that he doesn't have much to beat there.Illy,McSeveny,Hodges,Davy,Machin etc etc all better than Spackman.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 8 points from 8 games is nothing to get excited about. Think people are running away with themselves at the moment.
