What would your verdict be? For me, it has to be the Shawshank Redemption. Quite frankly, one the most beautiful and emotional films of all time. And the ending only further encapsulates everything that has past. Simply brilliant. There are others, however, and I'm sure all of you have your favourites. (Y)

Pretty Woman!! Can't beat a mushy, romantic, Cindarella-esque happy ending. Ooops was that just a bit girlie?!!
Did you know The ending of the Shawshank Redemption, where they meet up on the beach, wasn't in the original cut. It ended with Red on the bus, but in preview screening the audience didn't like it, so they shot that bit on the beach and tagged it on the end. That didn't make much difference like as it was a total flop at the cinema. It wasn't until it was released on video that it went stratospheric. I remember when I first saw it and Warden Norton puts his hand through the poster in Dufresne's cell, and, well, it's just ******* glorious.
Oh, The Sixth Sense If you managed to get to the theatre without knowing (like I did) then the revelation was brilliant.
RE: Did you know Too right. One critic's description of Bob Gunter's portrayal of Norton was "dripping in hypocricy", which was one of the best descriptions of a character I've ever heard. I still wonder how Andy Dufresne managed to stick the poster back on the wall so perfectly after heading off into the tunnel though......
RE: Oh, The Sixth Sense I guessed it when Bruce Willis was talking to his missus and she ignores him.
The end of the Shawshank Redemption would have been better if it had turned out that he'd murdered his wife all along, and the film ended with him stoving Morgan Freeman's head in with a blunt instrument on that beach.
