This Is Spinal Tap is one of the best films of all time, and I'd watch it ahead of any 'straight' rock 'n' roll films every time.
Great Rock and Roll Swindle. AC/DC Live at River Plate. Stardust That`ll be the day This is Spinal Tap Gimme Shelter Woodstock
err rock and roll means "the Girl Can't Help It" King Creole that'll be the day etc THAT'S ROCK AND ROLL
Errrly rock n roll yes, I was tempted to pick Girl Can't Help it and Blackboard Jungle, possibly Jailhouse Rock, but they didn't make my top 10. Well, actually mine goes up to eleven. That didn't make it either.
Oil City Confidential definitely on tonight on BBC4. Saw Wilko at Holmfirth Picturedrome last Friday, totally awesome.
What more can I say? - he was brilliant; he looks more menacing now than he did in the 70s, and his guitar style is still both unique and amazing (a left-hander playing a right-handed Telecaster like a machine gun). And yes, I did get the ticket at a reasonable price, face value of £17.50 from the venue. Could have sold it on ebay for £100, but no way was I going to do that. Thanks for the memories Wilko, I'll miss you when you leave us.
