As I say, a proper pub perhaps one of the last in Barnsley where conversation and dry Barnsley wit is'nt drowned out by crap music, this and the fact that the beer is excellent makes it a must visit for all those tourists visiting this stunning part of Yorkshire. (Tongue firmly in cheek at this point.)

Went on a race trip with all the Greyhound, Darley & Pilley boys last year. McDevitt and the Darley landlord in tow.

    Reight laugh!

Pete Baraclough is still the funniest guy from 'Brig. Dry wit abound. Know loads from down there.

No mate... only see them very occasionally.

Races normally but now and again see them at the match in the locals.

Never really appealed to me to be honest.....

Having said that i did frequent the place in the early 80's and knew Malc Robinson (no longer with us sadly). I frequented the Mason's Arms a bit more and also the Elm Tree on occasions. Not to mention the 'Pod'.... The 'Goshy' family are well known in the village.

though i don't know johnny gosh so well. i saw John Holden in there a year ago... and it was like, where's the last thirty years gone?

In another time, my grandad used to take his vegetables into the Greyhound and give them away. He'd get a few pints, later, off all the people who took the food.

    reight village, t'dale
