Well, I think one word could sum up the 1st half; Awful. It was lacklustre, sloppy, and hard on the eye. Not good, it could only get better, couldn't it? The second half, appeared to bring about more bite, more determination and even though everyone in the ground could see that the tactics just weren't working, it wasn't until Davey introduced Odejayi (who we were crying out for) that things began to change. Straight away, the ball WASN'T coming straight back. We were actually holding the ball up front, receiving flick ons, and Odejayi made a BIG difference. It was his persistence and determination that led to the ball falling to Ian Hume, who hit an absolute barnstormer of a half-volley, that flew into the net. If you'd have blinked, you'd have missed it. Quote from the lad next to me: "Have we scored? ****, **** - we've scored; Yes!!!! After that, it was one way traffic. It looked like that's just the thing we needed, a bit of confidence injected into the entire team. Luke Steele made 4 good saves to keep us in the game, and after a initial 20 minutes of shakiness, Darren Moore became a rock at the back, along with Foster and Souza who defended quite well. Even Kozluk looked pretty good today too! The second goal was again, a brillian bit of football. A neat passing pattern lead to Howards shot being tipped over, and from the resulting Hume corner, Steve Foster met the ball with a powerful header from 4 yards that flew into the roof of the net. Top stuff. Barnsley played out the last 5 minutes with ease, controlling the tempo and looking well worth the win. But if you'd have seen the 1st half - you'd have never predicted a comfortable 2-0 win in a million years. Man of the Match: Steele/Hume Come on you Reds!!!
