An interesting post about Sheff United's financial problems and how splitting football club and ground is rarely a good thing. http://aunitedview.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/it-came-in-letter.html?spref=tw&m=1
Our football ground and football club are seperate arn't they, or they were seperate at one time The ground being owned 50/50 by PC and Barnsley Council
Yes they are but in our case there is a different motivation. THat said, it must make the club less of a proposition to a potential buyer.
Different motivation or same motivation masked by a different excuse? Didn't the company that owns our ground now (council and PC?) apply to build houses on the clubs carpark?
less of a proposition to a fly by night investor yes. gives us very, very, few options for other types of investors i:e people who are genuinly interested in taking the club forward but wasn't, isn't that always goping to be so for a middle of the road type club such as ours.. much rather be in our position than say portsmouth or such tbh.
