    Ooh lucky you!

Would love to go there for a match. Been twice to Barbados - once with my mum dad & sister, and once on honeymoon. Absolutely love the place.
Not sure where you're staying but, when we went the places to go were Harbour Lights nightclub in Bridgetown (pay in & drink all night type thing), and The Ship Inn at St Lawrence Gap - for your live bands & good party atmosphere.

For a bit of authentic local stuff, try the Oistins Fish fry - like a massive open air late night market cum BBQ, with "Bottleshops" / "Beershcks" all around. It's the locals Friday night thin. We loved it - a good change from the usual tourist stuff.

Hope the cricket ground has improved since I visited it - well & truly delapidated when we went for a tour.... bags of character though.

Sure you'll have a great time.

You'll have a right laugh mate. We went to Ashes in Aus and it was absolutely fantastic.

    Thanks for the tips Fi

never been before so all info most welcome, not sure about that all you can drink place but I'll make my travelling companions aware, ermmm!

We are staying in Christchurch in "The Gap" sounds like it could be handy for The Ship? Seen England football away & a cricket Test match abroad but never one featuring England (I saw Aus v Windies) so a bit of a "great moment in life" for me.

Oistins fish Fry sounds ace, will check that out, ta for the lowdown.

    RE: Fantastic mate

will do Al, thanks for the wishes. Can't believe it myself, planned for it last year & thought it would never happen, things would get in the way etc but booked it & off we go!

If I really like it, I'm going to be obsessed with trying to get to Ashes 2010 ...... gulp, even more expensive..... and probably need 3 weeks to make it worthwhile!

Cheers Wellsie, don't get me started on Ashes in Aus, once Windies is done, ther will be only one ultimate dream trip left, and Ashes is it. BARMY ARMY!

Might even have to ask the wife along to that trip. Me getting a Windies <u>AND </u>Oz pass out with the boys is probably asking a bit much ....... although, hmmmmm, can't blame me for trying..........

    Aye son

&pound;85 &quot;Gusser&quot; surchage appeared on my ticket, not sure what it means but it's non-negotiable!

Watch out for the big BFC flag, with<strike>Paul crossed out</strike>

Also watching out for the lad in the Clava!

    Will he be with you?
Taxi detouring via Kier Street for clava exhumation
Apparently Barbados is perfect weather for clava wearing

Bit hot for the clava apparently

but I'm told they sell a nice new claw hammer at Bridgetown Hardware Inc.

As "Sir" Allen Stanford or Shaggy might say, "It wasn't me"

Never too hot for a clava son

Especially at night I hear temperatures drop very quickly and that kind of head gear is always handy
    Dual purpose

:D Make sure you sing your heart out for the boys. At Melbourne we lost by an innings but there was about 20000 english fans in the ground all singing. About an hour after everyone else had gone home half of us were still there singing then we met Botham on way out, had our photo with him he's a real nice man.

    Have a good time :)

Harbour Lights! I'll always remember one night in there. English men can calypso you know...

Good call with Oistins. Definitely one of the Bajan must dos. As is a trip up to North Point where the rugged coastline is in stark contrast to the south and west. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't point you in the direction of Welchman Hall Gully too. Shell's in Worthing (just along from the Gap) is a good little place for a decent meal.

    Also

If you get the chance (if they still do it) do the "Sail & Soar". 10 yrs ago, it was about £60 each (if you booked at Bridgetown harbour or by ringing up the no in the brochure). Alot cheaper than via the tour operaters. Basically it gets you a 45 mins helicopter ride around the island (brilliant), and half day on a catamaran drink as much as you can. Total bargain for 2 memorable days.

Mount Gay Rum tour an option. If you're staying in Christchurch, The Ship & Oistins Fish Fry are a must!

    You'll have a blast.
