Depending on which way you go through Leeds... Kirkstall Road is a right b4astard at that time of day. If you via Armley and up Pudsey way it should be easier but can be a nightmare around the Owlcoates centre/and roundabout a bit further up. What time's kick off?

I am indeed. No idea where, think I'm a lone soldier tomorrow for once. Obviously have one or two in their clubhouse but might find a pub before that dependent on time.

The clubhouse is great. Not sure I'm going to make it. My (neutral and Guiseley) mates have bailed based on the combo of £15 ticket and £18 return train and not sure I can be arsed with 2 train journey solo. Will let you know if owt changes.

£15. I can also attest that Kirkstall Road is not a fun place to be around 6pm - in fact nowhere in Leeds is, Pudsey is just as bad if not worse. Rush 'hour' here lasts between just after half 4 and around 7.

I've worked in Horsforth & Headingley for the past 8 years, you could probably catch the last of the Kirkstall Rd traffic by the time you get there but not to take a chance on it l would get off the M621 junction after Elland Road and go up the Stanningley bypass (A6110), follow signs to Horsforth (A6120). When you get to the roundabout with the Esso garage (top of the hill) turn left and it's a straight road to Guiseley through Rawdon.

No worries, pal. Would have been good to see you but completely understand the issues. It's literally a 15 minute journey for me from Forster Square, £4 return. If I had to travel longer/further I wouldn't be going. I'm not in work Wednesday either so it all made sense. I'll take the ridiculous £15 ticket on the chin.

I'd advise against the bypass if you can help it. I'd used to drive in the opposite direction for the past 6 years around that time and it is horrendous at that side of the road at the time. Every single day I'd count myself lucky to be going in the opposite direction, it's at a complete standstill. Kirkstall Road would be much better than there at that time.

:D In all seriousness though, I do advise against going via the bypass. You'll fly up that road and it'll seem great and then as soon as you get to the end and try and make your way to Horsforth it'll take forever. It can take 30mins to an hour to clear a bit of road that would take 5mins max at a different time of the day. Kirkstall Road isn't that bad, it's slowish but a much better option I reckon.

I'll pop in the Station then, can have one in both. I'll be the one with the long hair and adonis like frame.

Google Maps is showing 3 possible routes. One is M1/M62 to Bradford then A6177/A658/A65. Is that a viable alternative? Its similar in mileage and journey time to the other options - in normal conditions.
