First of all let me say i have not heard the Keith Hill interview regarding the so called comment about holding our championship status, so i shall take it as gospel having just read a previous thread about what he has said. Obviously the man likes to spout and up to press, if half of what he as come out with had a hint of reality we would be challenging for a champions league spot let alone struggling to string a forward pass together, anyway back to the point i was about to make. This man is very clever, first of all he comes out with all this lets big up my game and what he wishes to achive stuff...wow. its like a breath of fresh air, its exactly what he knows fans want to see and hear these days total football, he bigs up his reputation and inspires nearly everyone (me included) to think yes we have found the man to lead us forward,(although i didnt want Robins sacked) he pulls in lower league players who have got good reports from previous seasons, leading lights in their previous teams, to some extent we fall for the idea forgetting that these so called stars of their previous teams maybe only shine because those that where around them were bad. We then witness a preseason playing a string of clubs that our so called stars out shine already, by been better than they are. We once again fall for the game plan, some very good results and we are filled with further optimism about the coming season. We now enter the field of play, we manage to get a result from a poor forest side and come away with a point, we then go into the next game and loose to a lower league club because the fitness levels and desire isnt there, we move on to the Southampton game and are shown up for what we are clueless same with the boro game. What does the big man do admits in many years of being in football hes never felt as alone...very clever looking for sympathy then he comes out with the next pearl about our ability to survive championship football... once again being clever but not clever enough...He raised expectations hasnt delivered the fans straight away on his back so now he changes tactics I'll go for the old dumb it down road, the fans come on side again as they start to be forced fed the little old Barnsley CAN'T do this anymore story, eventually it becomes the acceptance of the masses, pressure comes off a little thus once again the man plays us.... For crying out loud we've fell for it hook line and sinker...THE MAN IS PLAYING US....both with is words and the fact that hes grasping for excuses. Couple that with the fact that Oakwell sends out mixed messages that suddenly we find we are at each others throats and the onus is then placed at our door for the reasons why we are not moving forward and away from the troubles on the pitch... From now on I for one will take Hills words with a pinch of salt because Im slowly coming to the conclusion A) hes treating us like fools (like most of football does) and B) Im now convinced he likes the sound of his own voice. Well thats my take on things i will sit back and let you make up your own minds, a weeks a long time in football and the way things are going i can see us spending a fortnight on saturday as i beleive its going to get very painful to watch The answer is simple...we want a mid fielder that as championship experience.(a old head)... the Don is the one who holds the key.... SO SORT IT...
Hold on. Where did Christmas go? Oh wait, thats right. Its only August and we are only 3 games in....
