This is exactly the sort of fixture I'd expect us to win in years gone by. I fear for us in this one. If brum got an early goal and really felt up for it... God knows what it could end up as.
Blackpool the only team all season to keep a clean sheet there. Our inability to keep a clean sheets means we won't be number two. We will play like a number two.
Might bring back my predictions thread for this one, so I can do a full dissection of why we'll win this one to nil.
will be up to Flavell to keep the tally down like he did against Wigan they play with a back 4 so will have an extra man in midfield all game and have two fast wingers who will be in behind our wingbacks all day
My son is desperate to go but I’m just not going to justify spending £45 to go plus travel and food to see us now. So that should hopefully nail a 3-0 win for us then
After the last four performances and results against sides who are in all fairness and with all respect not very strong at this level, I’d actually be quite annoyed if we turned up there, performed well and got a result. It’s easy to motivate yourself to play at Birmingham away. Games against Exeter and Cambridge for example they did not, and that’s a mentality and professionalism issue. If they can get a result at St Andrews then it just shows how unacceptably they have ‘performed’ in the last four games, in fact in most games since January generally. So it would infuriate me even more about what we’ve seen recently. Though I don’t think it’ll come up. I think they’ll turn up expecting to get gubbed - and deliver exactly what they expect.
Birmingham supporters seem to think that teams that don't come for a point, get in their faces, are physical and "have a go" fare the best. So we're utterly daffy ducked on that front. We've just failed to beat 4 teams below us so their formidable home record really makes no difference to how I feel about the game - I wouldn't be confident even if they'd got a worse home record than us.
