The worst thing about this these incidents in America days is that the reaction in the Uk is more likely to be "oh not another one" rather than one of shock.

They're obsessed with the Second Amendment which allows them to bear arms. But that was written in the 1700s shortly after the American war of Independence - it has little relevance in today's society and should be scrapped. But of course the NRA and the powerful gun lobby are determined to make sure that doesn't happen. Reyt mess

Quite a few going back to the 70s and 80s. Many of those were carried out by the various sides of the conflict in NI though. But you missed Jeremy Bamber in 85 (5 dead - although that was within one family), Robert Sartin in 89 (1 dead, 14 injured) and Jake Davison (5 dead, 2 injured) in Plymouth in 2021.
I don't get your point, another seven shot dead in another mass shooting also in California, it's a very, very regular occurrence so it's not a shock.
