Not very often I come onto the board straight after a game and give such negative posts BUT this games pushed me to the limits!!
I have never seen such a gutless performance from a Reds team, and even more so against a local rival in Sheffield Wednesday! We had four local lads starting today, and in 95 minutes of football I can not remember one crunching tackle from any of them. Fair enough they are the easy target in that aspect but all 11 players need to take a good long hard look at themselves and realise if they dont book there ideas up we will be playing League 1 again next season.
The under 10's at half time showed more skill and movement than half of the first team on show!!
Indavidual moans
Colgan - Losing all confidence in this guy. Fair enough he's kept us in some games BUT at the moment he is not commanding his back line and I think the defence have lost some confidence in him..... Crossley was outstanding today is coming for the ball, and it would be a relief to see that from a Barnsley keeper.
Kay - Again come on leaps and bounds this season BUT when is he going to learn about keeping hold of the ball and doing fancy terms 25 yards away from his goal
Austin - Some people said he is better at left back..................... IS HE???!!!?????
Hayes - Touch today was shocking, everything he did bounced off his leg and 5 yds away from him.
Nardi - Don't get me started. We need two balls on the pitch for this guy, it must be so frustrating for the other players. Fair enough if may have some skill but he needs to realise that there are times when it is better to pass than keep running head down.
Plus Point................ DEVANEY - Thought he had a good game. Ran at them when had the chance, couple of decent tackles and tried to shoot when possible. Shame it looks like he will be off in January!!!
The board need to get this new appointment made and very, very quick. We had a 5 point gap before kick off and that will quickly turn the other way if we dont do something. It is even more important that the new manager makes the signings and not Davey getting them in place for when he comes in!
FINAL NOTE - THE CLUB ARE VERY LIKELY TO BE FINED BY THE F.A. AT LEAST FOLLOWING EVENTS DURING THE GAME TODAY!

RE: What events? nt Ref picked up loads of coins after 2nd and 3rd goal. Went over to 4th Official who then reported it to police and safety officer!!
Yet again it came from the lower corner of Ponty!

Ponty End Is Full....... of chavs, trouble causers and people who don't like to sit down so what do you expect ?
Devaney is the new O'Connell Exciting looking player that runs at people then stops, then kicks it somewhere (can't tell most of the time if he's trying to cross, shoot or summat else) Problem we've got is alot of the team are playing on last seasons' glory - see Devaney/Colgan/Hayes for prime examples.
LiverpoolRed........ i know that dude. It's just a large minority and you have my respect for putting up with it.
RE: Ponty End Is Full....... FAO DB I sit in the Ponty end and can assure you I am neither of them Dreamboy!!! So don't tarnish us all.
I have to say if there is trouble it starts on theright hand side as you face the pitch . I haven't seen much down the middle - i sit behind the goal -orleft hand side to be fair
Nardiello wasn't gutless & spineless Had everyone else put in hte same effort today, we would have been Ok. Sadly, they did not.
What was alsonoticeable today were the mistakes. Williams, Colgan & Kay. Despite a very poor display, those errors cost us.

RE: Nardiello wasn;t gutless & spineless nt Yes he was and you could add a selfish twit to that as well, hes like Hayes pretends to jump and challenge without getting nerar it
RE: Nardiello wasn;t gutless & spineless nt Nardiello was poor today. What did he do apart from try and do a 'one man show' 99.9% of the time.
Quickest he ran today was when he claimed for the penalty, he chased the ref to the half way line. Sooner people realise he is not our saviour, the better!

but Although I don't condone it and the fans deserve to be banned, the referee clearly failed to do his job. Sheffield wednesday players ran over to the barnsley fans, slid towards them and punched the air. Its a bookable offence if the referee feels that it could incite the crowd which clearly if the referee then picked up a load of coins he must agree that it did do and yet he failed to bok the player in question.
Hmm I'm not particularly a fan of his, but can't agree with you that one.
What I would say, is that Nardi & MacLean had identical chances into exactly the same goal. Maclean scored his and Nardi didn't.

RE: Hmm I counted 4 occasions today where Nardiello beat his man. After that the best situation was to pass it, bu he still ran, head down and got nothing for it.
He can have all the skill (alleged) in the world, but simple fact is he is not cutting it!!!

RE: but Totally agree BUT we have Huddersfield and Leeds incidents hanging over our head already!!
Clubs like Barnsley feel the full force of the fa in these situations

Don't generalise Ponty End there are some trouble causers but then there are similar people in the East Stand lower. I sit in the Ponty (my avatar was taken from my seat) but I didn't throw a coin onto the pitch. If the Wednesday players will hold their celebrations in front of the most troublesome area of the Ponty then they should expect something. Our players celebrated in front of an empty stand after the Leeds match pitch invasions. Could have all been avoided by celebrating away from that area. I sit in the Ponty but I am as annoyed as anyone else that these idiots have thrown coins, knowing that the club they "support" is on a final warning because of incidents concerning the conduct of the crowd. Once again the minority will spoil it for the majority.
