I got to the ground and quickly read on my phone that it was Davies that would replace Drinkwater. This surprised me because I thought it would be central midfield to replace him and keep our 4231/433 style. Anyway when I saw the team sheet I thought great we are going to attack and play with Dagnall and Vazte wide. Formation. Not sure what it was to be honest. Think it would have been a diamond midfield with vazte at the tip. But I could be wrong. Also the wind didn’t help. Anyway, we had NO width in first half. This wasn’t helped with Hassell not getting to the by line. Sorry but Hassell should have got wider and given the central players options. Also thought Hassell should have had one with that header, TBH I’m not sure why he did head it and not side foot it in. I thought it was a pen, Addison had hold of the millwall player. If you go back though when Addison had the ball before the free kick he didn’t have any options to pass. Also Jay Mcevley shouldn’t be shouting at the lino. He signalled 1-0 at him and then pointed towards him. I thought he could have said 1-0 to the linesman. I was going to say what I thought. I will say I thought Gray and Ncunlty played well. Mcnulty in midfield impressed and Gray, I thought he held the ball up well.
Hassell was hamstrung by the sh1tty formation today; he wanted to do more but he had no support in front of him so his options were very limited. Having said that he had a poor game but so did the whole team.
Its very lonely playing full-back with nothing in front of you, you feel like your playing in the niff.
