Headed to the turnstiles in plenty of time. Eldest daughter went in, then my youngest daughter went in. Except that her card was rejected. So I now have one daughter in the ground, and one who can't get in, and a turnstile operator who refuses to help. I was lucky that it was my eldest daughter on her own. At least she is familiar with the ground. So, after a fruitless conversation with 2 operators, where I was asked if I brought a proof of purchase (isn't the point of adding to your season card, that it avoids using the paperwork?), I was sent to the box office. Eldest daughter on her own inside the ground. There were around 50 people in the queue at this point. It was obvious we weren't going to make kick off. Knowing that my eldest daughter would be getting worried, I had no option left than to pay on the turnstile for my youngest daughter. Once again, separated, as I had to go back to the season card gate to get in, having sent her through the cash gate. Why do we make things so hard? I know I have a confirmation of purchase for all 3 tickets, so why one card didn't work, I have no idea. To be honest, it's not even the £10 extra I've had to pay, but the stress of separating the kids, and not knowing whether we'd make kick off. The attitude of the stewards was "not my problem". Total disregard for the situation.
Re: Had a great night but I'm afraid the turnstiles / ticketing caused us alot of str I was luckier than you then, because my daughter went first and her season pass was rejected too. However, the lass on the turnstile just asked me if I bought them together, to which I replied I did, so she let my daughter through and said I'd best have a word with the ticket office tomorrow. Mine went through no problem.
Re: Had a great night but I'm afraid the turnstiles / ticketing caused us alot of str I bought mine separately. I did my youngest's a few days later, when we knew she was also coming. She hasn't used it for a league game yet this season, but nevertheless, I have confirmation of the sale. I'm still peeved at the lack of concern that a family had been separated. Took the edge off an otherwise great night; and now I have to trail from Sheffield to Oakwell at some point to retrieve the extra £10 (is there any point in even e mailing the club, I ask myself).
Re: Had a great night but I'm afraid the turnstiles / ticketing caused us alot of str Has anyone ever received an email back from the club? They've never responded to any of mine, even when I was emailing them to say we wanted to sponsor a player.
Re: Had a great night but I'm afraid the turnstiles / ticketing caused us alot of str I've never had any success. By the time I've faffed about with finding my e mail confirmation, and driving to an from Oakwell, it will hardly be worth the £10. Problem is, I want to know if we'll have the same problem next time we try to use the season card.
Re: Had a great night but I'm afraid the turnstiles / ticketing caused us alot of str I had this experience at the Boro friendly, Fired. I purchased tickets for that and the Huddersfield game and downloaded to my ST card - in theory (I had the printed receipts). I was sent round to the Box Office, where an envelope was waiting for me with paper tickets for both games. "Oh - we knew there was a problem" I was told. So why didn't I get an email telling me to collect them, rather than having me go to the turnstiles behind the ESL and then having to go back and queue at the Box Office? They send me emails about all sorts of other carp, but I'm not going to purchase hospitality or sponsor a stand, with respect! I didn't take a chance with last night's game, and bought my seat but printed out a paper ticket. I think in the main, Ben and his staff are doing a good job of modernising the club and improving the experience. But they've slipped up with this one - to the annoyance of some of their most valuable/loyal customers. Let's get this one right, Ben.
Re: Had a great night but I'm afraid the turnstiles / ticketing caused us alot of str Might be better to tweet them instead. Public pressure is often best and harder to ignore. I sent them m a couple of emails no response then tweeted them summat snarky got an email reply within 2 hours.
Had a great night but I'm afraid the turnstiles / ticketing caused us alot of... I always always keep my email confirmation on my phone, for stuff like this. Can't really blame the turnstiles operators. They just scan a barcode Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
