    Where from?

Used to be a lovely drop in Lundhill Tavern.
Had it down at the Railway last weekend and it was rough.
Well kept I rather like it.

Any update on the possibility of real ale at the Anglers btw?

Neither current version of BB is worthy of the name.</p>

Not a patch on the real thing of 40 years ago!

It's a decent enough beer so that says more about the pub/landlord than the beer.

When I've had it I've thought it was quite good

So as Eastie says - someone isnt keeping it properly

Unfortunately I'm not quite old enough to remember the original so cant say how it compares

You must be an old bugger if you can remember what BB tasted like 40 years ago.

I had a pint of Acorn Barnsley Bitter in Worksop recently - spot on! I do remember the original Barnsley Bittler - I was 7 at the time when we got a older mate to get a carry out in the old pop bottle.

I had a few pints of the BB.

Keg beer, owned by John Smiths. A lighter version of John's and not that nice. That was just before they closed the brewery down, I don't know if it had been better before but the curent Acorn beer is much better.

Whilst I can't honestly say that I can remember the taste, other than it was good, I can say that it was sold as proper live beer, can't remember it being keg, up to the time the brewery closed.
I remember having some of the last brew at the Manor in Grimey.

I'm fairly sure I remember lots of complaints at the Time

Once John Smiths bought up the brewer the beer went rapidly downhill and was never the same

If i've one regret in life.........it's this.............never having sampled a pint of the original Barnsley Bitter

I remember it being advertised on top of the brewery stand
I remember the local ale houses selling it
I remember my dad & his mates supping it

But can anyone describe the taste to me please..... (pint) (pint) (pint)
