Its any chance to have a go at the club. I really think some people would have been happier if we had been relegated, then they could brag about them "being right" all summer.
"He's not refused a new contract because I've not offered him on", quipped Oakwell lunchtime legend Keef Hill.
He'd be worth **** all now, FACT!!! dunno why people are still getting out of their pram about it. What's done is done.
When people were talking about new contracts he'd had a good 6 weeks. He wasn't great right up until early November. Hindsight is brilliant.
If he had signed to stay then we would have been worth summat. The fact is that we let a good player go for relative peanuts and we will continue to do so whilst an administrator is running the entire thing.
Had Vaz Te been offered a contract when he hit form and even the local media were asking why the club were refusing to offer him a deal then he may well have signed an extension and be worth a fair bit of money now.
You could think that about everything though. If he stayed we may have been safe a lot earlier, and had lot more interesting football. Could say what's done is done for every player we sell, still doesn't mean it's right.
But he wasn't going to sign a new contract, he said so himself. Supertyke refered to an extension, he wouldn't have signed that either. The only way we were ever going to keep Vaz Te beyond this season is if he'd not been the player he was/is. It's the sad fact of being a small football club in the big pond we are in.
Where have you got the information that Vaz Te would never have signed an extension from? I have never heard him say such a thing, nor have I heard anyone from the club say it.
The only thing we heard was Keef bragging he could not turn a contract down because he'd not offered him one!
