    Whether he touched it or not.

    He only became active once he was onside.

    It's that grey area but I think they have been hard done by

    As above. But even if hooper touched it. It was pulled back for him being off side as he tracked back. So even if hooper touched it he called offside for separate part of play

    he must have been at least 10 yards offside when gk booted it and went straight through to him, but how they went about chalking it off was a tad poor by the officials

    Offside is when the ball is played though? Not when its received - if he was offside when the ball was played forward the as soon as he touches it he's offside.
