    we are in for our usual seasonal struggle in the league. its that simple.
    I was hoping for a bit of an improvement, but no.. in all honesty it just aint gonna happen. Lawro and Claridge are despised at Oakwell... but simply they see and tell the truth.

    I agree about Lawro etc. they get stick for daring to say we will struggle, when everyone other than the die-hard Reds fans see it the same way !
    The defence this season is going to be a problem !

    I do feel sorry for those who may have to sit through 120 minutes of this + stoppage time + penalties.

    I'm not worried though - Wigan are the same team that have done well in the Premier League for the last few seasons and won the FA Cup, and we never do well in the League Cup, especially against lower league opposition.

    Strength in depth, goals and creativity are why we will struggle to lift ourselves above the bottom half but you never know with a few wins to lift the confidence.

    Apparently we have a very strong squad this season, COG and Daggers are going to be on fire and Jennings and Mellis are fantastic creators, so I fail to see your point :rolleyes::p

    With the money we have i think flicker has done a great job with the players we have at the moment! Everyone cried out to sign COG and when Jennings signed everyone acted as if we signed Ronaldo. How a few weeks can make a difference...

    No they didnt, some did, but not EVERYONE !!!

    Also that was my point exactly ! Over reaction to the end of last season and too high hopes .

    Worryingly it was almost the same team as saturday with many being given a chance to show the Wigan performance was a one off. However too many showed it wasn't. Roll on Tutu/Digby being fit again.
